School examinations in Dolpa cancelled due to snowfall

Annual examinations at many government schools in the Thulibheri municipality and surrounding villages in the district scheduled for today have been cancelled due to snowfall.
Besides snowfall, the fact that there is a duplication in question papers for different schools has made the matter worse, said Dil Prasad Rokaya, chief of the education section at the municipality, adding that examination of Nepali paper is rescheduled for coming Sunday if there will be weather improvements.
The road leading to schools covered in snow has made it difficult for students to reach schools, he said. “School premises are covered in thick snow. Snowfall continues making it difficult for students to make it to the school,” said a science teacher at Laxmi Secondary School at Thargaun.
Likewise, continuous snowfall in Jumla district has affected examinations at various schools in a municipality and seven rural municipalities.
Students are finding it hard to take examinations due to chilling cold, said teacher Ten Bahadur Shahi at a primary school at Tila rural municipality-4, adding however that the examinations continued by building fire for the students.
